CP Plus becomes the first operator in England and Wales to complete the Home Office’s Surveillance Camera Code Self-Assessment

London, UK, 12th April 2017: CP Plus Limited, one of the UKs leading car park, security and facility management operators has become the first car parking management company in England and Wales to have successfully completed the Surveillance Camera Code (SCC) Self-Assessment. This qualification is part of a continued drive by CP Plus to raise the quality of service across the industry.

The SCC sets out 12 guiding principles identified by the Home Office and Surveillance Camera Commissioner, which strikes a balance between protecting the public and upholding civil liberties. The principles provide a coherent and comprehensive structure that aims to reassure the public that surveillance cameras are used to protect and support communities rather than spy on them.

“The SCC Code is a very important initiative and as such we are very pleased to have accomplished the self-assessment”, said Ian Langdon, Operations Director at CP Plus. “As a company that manages and operates hundreds of parking and security cameras across the country, we are very aware of the need to be responsible, transparent and accountable for the way we use these cameras.  Signing up to the SCC code of practice reassures both our clients and motorists that we take these issues very seriously.  And as part of our continual improvement and focus on transparency, we will be publishing our policy on our website”.

As the first parking management company in England and wales to have completed the SCC Self-assessment, CP Plus is affirming its ability and commitment to raise the levels of transparency and customer service in the industry, as well as driving continuous improvements to its services and internal processes.

Furthermore, in December 2016, CP Plus achieved the ISO 9001:2015 Quality & ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management Systems Standard Certification. At the time, CP Plus was the only car park management company to meet the ISO’s meticulous criteria for these standards, affirming its ability and commitment to consistently deliver an effective quality & environmental management system.
