CP Plus has been selected to manage the Southbank Centre car parks. The central London attraction and venue has two public car parks, The Hungerford car park is ideally located and has direct access to the Southbank and the London Eye whilst the Hayward car park provides a convenient place to park with direct access to the Hayward Gallery.
The car parks, taken over from Apcoa, collectively have 250 spaces ensuring easier access to some of London’s most popular attractions.
CP Plus has taken over the pay and display system and they have also installed pay by phone parking. The firm is also installing an additional pay and display machine in each car park to ensure faster payment and transit times for motorists.
CP Plus is improving customer service by increasing staff presence during opening hours and concert times. The Southbank transforms into a major festival area during the summer months with events such as the Udderbelly attracting thousands of visitors. CP Plus will play a major part in managing the traffic and marshaling during these events. Safety will also be improved with a number of measures including the resurfacing of the Hungerford car park.
Gavin Povey, Head of Development at CP Plus, commented:
'We are pleased that the Southbank centre recognized the need for effective and customer orientated management of these much visited tourist sites. CP Plus is committed to ensuring an enjoyable and stress free experience for all.'
